The cold weather is definitely beginning to step in- 2º this morning!

 

Tesco Bank has been fined £16.4m by the City watchdog over a cyber attack on the lender, which could have been 'largely avoidable'. The FinancialConduct Authority (FCA) said deficiencies at the bank had left account holders vulnerable to an incident which bagged cyber criminals £2.26m. Tesco bank said since the incident in November 2016, it had significantly enhanced security measures, and apologised to customers.

 

Facebook has said 50 million users were affected by a security breach which potentially enabled hackers to take over people's accounts. The social media site has not yet determined if the accounts were misused or what information was accessed, and have informed police. They also do not know who was behind the breach or where they are based. About 90 million people will now have to log back in, after an additional 40 million accounts, on top of the original 50, were reset as a precaution.

 

Rainbow Presenter Geoffrey Hayes has died age 76 after suffering from Pneumonia. The actor and TV presenter died in hospital surrounded by his family, as confirmed today by his manager Phil Dale. Paying tribute, he said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that the family announce that Geoffrey passed away from pneumonia in hospital with his wife, Sarah, and son, Tom, by his side. The family would like to express their thanks to the many fans over the years as it always gave Geoffrey so much pleasure to know that he and his Rainbow team had given so much fun to TV and theatre audiences over the years." Geoffrey appeared alongside children's TV favourites Zippy, George and Bungle in more than 1,000 episodes of Rainbow.
