READY TO BURN

Read to burn

We're proud to be an official Woodsure Ready to Burn supplier, ensuring our high-quality, eco-friendly firewood meets strict government standards for cleaner air.

What is Ready to Burn?

This certification guarantees wood with 20% or less moisture content, providing:

  •  Cleaner, more efficient burns

  •  Reduced smoke and emissions

  •  Better stove performance and less chimney buildup

Why It Matters

Under the Air Quality Regulations 2020, wood sold in quantities under 2m³ must be Ready to Burn certified, ensuring safer, more efficient home heating. Larger orders are required to come with proper storage guidance to self season.

Why Choose Us?

Our certified firewood is:

  • Eco-friendly – Lower emissions for cleaner air

  • Efficient – Maximized heat output with less waste

  • Safe – Reduced chimney blockages and tar buildup

BSL

bsl-logo-green-authorised_

Introduced by BEIS in April 2014, the BSL verifies that wood fuels meet Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) eligibility requirements. It helps RHI participants prove to Ofgem that their biomass boiler fuel meets sustainability standards. Fuel supplied as part of the scheme must be certified under a quality assurance scheme, which for pellets, is ENplus.

Sustainability Requirements:

Greenhouse Gas Emissions -

  • Emissions must be at least 60% lower than the EU fossil fuel average for heat, when the boiler is operating at an average of 70% seasonal efficiency.

  • Emissions must not exceed ≤34.8g CO2e per MJ.

Land Criteria -

  • Wood must be legally sourced from sustainably managed woodland.

All BSL-listed fuels meet sustainability, legality, and fuel quality standards required by the RHI scheme.
